The Vent Line: Why It Matters More Than the Parts
Most dryer failures trace back to airflow, not the dryer itself. A blocked or kinked vent line forces the machine to work harder, overheats internal components, and blows thermal fuses. In Florida's humid climate, lint compacts faster inside venting because it stays moist longer. Dryers vented through longer duct runs, especially in slab-built ranch homes common across South Sarasota, are more prone to buildup. If your thermal fuse keeps blowing, the vent line needs to be inspected before a new fuse will solve anything.
Electric vs. Gas Dryers: Different Failure Points

Warning Signs You Should Not Ignore

A dryer that smells like burning, shuts off before the cycle ends, or feels unusually hot to the touch on the outside needs attention before the next load. Gas dryers that ignite and then cut out mid-cycle should not be run again until the ignition system is inspected.
