What to Check Before Calling a Technician
A few quick checks can tell you a lot. First, pull out and rinse the pump filter, which on most front-loaders sits behind a small access panel near the floor. Coins, hair ties, and lint are the most common culprits. Also confirm the drain hose isn't kinked behind the machine and that the standpipe height is between 30 and 96 inches from the floor. If those check out and the problem persists, the pump itself likely needs attention.
